Lakeside wedding on a sunny day in Raleigh, NC, what’s not to love! I met Mary + Jeff late last year when they were interviewing wedding photographers and there was an immediate connection; we even ended the meeting with me taking a photo of them which they loved. From that initial meeting, they undertook a major renovation project for their wedding in their backyard that sits at the bay of the lake. As I arrived 5-6 months later, the property looked fantastic and provided a dream backdrop for their outdoor wedding.

Beyond all the details that you can see went into decorating and creating an incredible experience. What shined the most that day is the affection and love between Mary + Jeff. Every chance they got they glance at each other, held hands, kissed, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. More than a handful of times I would overhear guests say “I’ve never seen Mary/Jeff this happy”.

FIRST LOOK

I absolutely love first look sessions given most Brides and Grooms don’t get that time to really look and enjoy a quiet moment together. The looks and genuine moments that come from first look sessions are priceless. This session with Mary + Jeff were full of soo many great moments that we could fill a whole post with just the images we captured in that short 15min span. Here are a few that tell just a little bit of the magic we experienced with them.
