Main Photographer: Robin Croom Photography
Venue: Gates Four Golf & Country Club, Fayetteville, NC
We’re grateful to have been the 2nd photographers for Robin Croom Photography. This was the first time working with Robin and it’s like we’ve worked together many times before. We quickly reviewed layout and our assignments and promptly went to work.
As a 2nd shooter, my job is to pay attention to how the main photographer is shooting and complement them. What that means is if they are shooting wide, I shoot with a telephoto lens, if they are shooting up close, I switch to my 2nd camera with a wider field of view. The goal is to help document what the main photographer is capturing from a slightly different view.
It’s critical t to ask questions or give suggestions to the main shooter as the day is moving; What is your preference? Where will you be positioned? Are you more zoomed or wide? I’ll grab groom and then turn around and grab crowd. Do you need me to go grab that light once we’re done? Etc.
This makes for a smoother process for the main shooter. All in all I know we covered the day the best it could be. I left knowing her day was easier and fun because I was her second shooter.
Here are some of the images I captured that day.
