TRAVEL | JANE’S CAROUSEL & MANHATTAN BRIDGE

While in
NYC I stopped by
Jane’s Carousel &
Manhattan Bridge area testing out my recently added travel companion, the
Nikon P7000 – the $100/used on Craigslist made it a compelling deal. It now replaces the
Nikon V1 in my arsenal bag. I haven’t been satisfied with the V1 on many levels, whether it’s the lack of physical dials, the proprietary hotshoe and the lens options (at the launch which is when I purchased it) to name a few.
Although the Nikon P7000 is older than the V1, it has everything I needed that I didn’t know I needed. It feels and handles like a mini-
DSLR. I’ve put it to the test on a wedding and a bridal portrait session over the weekend and it didn’t disappoint. In fact I now realize I don’t need a dedicated macro lens in my wedding kit anymore. This camera handles that job even better in my opinion…hmmm, guess I’ll have to write-up a blog post on that one separately now 🙂
Here are a couple of selects while in NY for wedding & bridal session work.
